He registered for the draft on September 12, 1918, in Red Wing, where he was a farm laborer on his parents’ farm at R.R. #1, Dennison, Goodhue County. He was described as short and of medium build with blue eyes and brown hair.
Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon, Dec. 2, at the Vang Lutheran Church, for Ludvig O. Soine. The Rev. B. J. Blikstad officiated. The Pallbearers were Theodore Frettem, Glen Eckstrom, Cyrus Midje, John A. Underdahl, Lyle Brekken and John Stenhaug. Mrs. Blikstad was the vocalist with Mrs. Cyrus Midje at the organ. Interment aas in the family lot in the Vang Cemetery. Luvig O. Soine, 60 year-old farmer, living a mile north of the Wang's Store, made his home with his brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas A. Soine. He had just come in the house after doing some of the routine chores on the farm when he was suddenly stricken with a heart attack. He is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Henry Quamme of Nerstrand and Mrs. Arnold Johnson of Cannon Falls; four brothers, Carl of Northfield, Ben of Minneapolis, Gerhard of Cannon Falls, and Thomas on the home farm. Mr. Soine was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas L. Soine and was born January 14, 1898. He had spent his entire life in this community and served several years as assessor of Warsaw Township. He was a member of the Vang congregation.
