The inscription on the gravestone he shares with Helen in the Crystal Lake Cemetery is confusing and reads: Sgt US Marine Corps WWII Corvallis Police Officer Jan 1, 1946 to Oct 1, 1979 Corvallis Chief of Police Sep 1, 1963 to Oct 1, 1979 Home in Tennessee It happens that, according to the SSDI, a James Albert Goodman with this birth date died in Tennessee on 30 Mar 2001. His SS# had been issued in Tennessee. His last residence was New Johnsonville, Humphreys County, Tennessee. FInd A Grave has an entry for him and Bertelyn Cagle Goodman for Flatwoods Methodist Cemetery in Camden, Tennessee. He had married Bertelyn Cagle on March 23, 1995, according to Find A Grave. Services will be at 3:30 p.m. today at Stockdale-Malin Funeral Home in Camden with burial in Ebenezer Cemetery in Humphreys County. He was a Marine Corps veteran and a member of Camden Church of Christ. Mr. Goodman, the husband of Ruth Greer Goodman, also leaves a daughter, Beverly Bergan of Ontario, Ore.; a sister, Ruby Neil of Sharon; a brother, Larry Goodman of Huntsville, Ala., and seven grandchildren.
