  Notes	Arrived with her parents and siblings in Boston in 1896. In the 1900 census, she was a servant in the Nils Pearson household in Brockton, Massachusetts. In the 1910 census, she and Elmer lived at 155 Warren Avenue in Boston in a house that he owned with a mortgage. It was a large enough house to hold several lodgers. An article in the 25 Jan 1911 edition of the Boston Globe describes a fire at the lodging house. In the 1920 census, she and Elmer and Olga rented living quarters at 14 Magnolia Street in Arlington in Middlesex County, Massachusetts. In that census, for some odd reason, she is shown as having been born in France, to French parents. In the 1923 Arlington, Massachusetts, city directory, Elmer E and Jennie live at 24 Edgerton. Elmer’s occupation is master mariner. In the 1930 census, she and Elmer and Olga lived at 24 Egerton Road in Arlington in a home that they owned (worth $12,000). In the 1933 Arlington, Massachusetts, city directory, Elmer E and Jennie lived at 78 Cleveland. Elmer’s occupation was master mariner. None of our three McFarlands were listed in the 1935 Arlington, Massachusetts, city directory. In the 1936 Boston city directory, Elmer E MacFarland, wife Jennie, master mariner, lives at 148 W Canton. In the 1940 census, she is probably the Jenne McFarland, a 62 year-old widow, born in Sweden, living as a lodger at 696 Tremont Street in Boston. The Boston Voter Registration shows that there was another Jennie McFarland living in Boston during the period that Laurentia lived in Massachusetts. This different Jennie McFarland, shown as Jennie A McFarland, wife of Daniel McFarland was born in New Hampshire and lived at 174 Stratford Street.
