According to Bonnie, from an undated, unspecified news account: PFC Richard C Fautch, 3245 41st Ave S, has been decorated with the bronze star for heroic action in Belgium when he stood his ground in the face of an enemy counter-attack. He directed effective rocket and rifle fire against the foe and after expending his ammunition employed hand grenades to help repulse the assault. In the 1948 Minneapolis city directory, he is an inventory crew captain for National Tea. He lives at 2117 E 86th. According to the Hennepin County tax records, Dick and Barb’s house at 2117 E 86th was built in 1944.
