Ausen passed away peacefully on September 3, 2013 at the age of 81 after a long battle with Alzheimer's. Mr. Ausen served in Korea and Vietnam and retired from the Navy in 1971. He then worked in civil service at North Island. Mr. Ausen was preceded in death by his wife Betty. They had been married 54 years. He is survived by his son Norman, daughter-in-law Valorie, and grand- daughter Amy, all San Diego residents. He is also survived by his brother Glen of Montana, sisters June and Fern of Minnesota and sister Lorraine of Washington State. A military service will be held at Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery
