  Notes	The 1898 plat map of the area shows that J.M. Kornder owned a 25 acre plot in the northwest corner of Section 1, Bloomington Twp. This parcel of land today is bounded by 24th Avenue on the east, Lindau Lane on the south, and the Ikea store on the west. It would have been part of the parking lot northeast of Metropolitan Stadium. In the 1900 census, he and his family live on a farm in Bloomington Twp. The household consisted of John, 44, Prabetta, 29, Willia, 8, Johanna, 6, Matha, 3, and Lillian, 1. They have been married for 12 years. Prabetta has had 6 children, 4 still living. They own their farm, free of mortgage. John came to the U.S. in 1852 and Prabetta in 1888. Judging by his neighbors, John is now at his farm on Portland Avenue and is no longer living with the other Kornders on or near the future Cedar Avenue. In the 1910 census, he and his family lived on a farm in Bloomington Twp, Hennepin County. The household consisted of John, 54, Babetta, 38, William, 18, Johanna, 16, Meta, 13, Lillian, 10, Bertha, 9, Gertrude, 5, Pearl, 3, and Rose, 1. In the 1920 census, he and his family lived on a farm, a truck farm, in Bloomington Twp, Hennepin County, on or near Portland Avenue and Old Shakopee Road. The household consisted of John M, 65, Babetta M, 49, Meta L, 22, Bertha P, 19, Gertrude E, 15, Pearl M, 13, and Rose M, 11. A plat map from this period shows that the John M Kornder farm was on the northeast corner of 98th and Portland. It consisted of the western half of the northwest quarter of Section 14 and the western half of the southwestern quarter of Section 11. This was a 155 acre parcel that was a quarter-mile wide and a mile long with a mile of frontage along Portland Avenue. In the 1927 Minneapolis city directory, he and several of his daughters lived at 4031 37th Avenue S. In the 1930 census, he and Babatta lived at 4031 37th Avenue S with their daughters Pearl, Rose, and Meta, and their granddaughter June. John was retired. Meta was still married but not living with her husband. In the 1940 census, he and Babbete and Pearl and Meta’s daughter June lived at 4031 37th Avenue S in Minneapolis.
