In the 1895 state census he is John K. Tassa, living with his family in Holden, Goodhue County. The household is John K., 60, Ingebor, 55, daughter Gunild, 32, Knut, 30, daughter Secili, 24, Mary, 22, Marit, 20, Gilbert, 18, daughter Josse, 14, and Albert, 9. All the children were born in Minnesota. He is listed in “The Valdris Book”, a history of the Valdris Samband published in 1920 (available on Google Books), as John K Tasa of Dennison but his entry specifically says he was not a member of the Samband. His entry says that he came to the U.S. in 1851.
