  Notes	The article in the Star, 19 Nov 1928: “Three-year-old Jackie Erickson, living at 4036 Seventeenth Avenue South, was seriously burned Sunday afternoon when he fell into a bonfire which had been lighted in a vacant lot near his home. The fire had been started among boxes and barrels in a mouth of a small cave in which children of the neighborhood were accustomed to play. Jackie, with other children of the neighborhood, gathered to watch the flames eat into the refuse. He ventured too near the edge of the tunnel mouth and the dirt caved, pushing him into the flames. He was rescued by companions and the flames beaten from his garments. The boy was taken to General hospital where his condition was declared serious. Both arms and legs were burned, his eyebrows singed, and one ear injured.” Later articles described the boy getting blood transfusions from his parents. Died at 3:05 PM in Minneapolis General Hospital. His death certificate shows that he died from “accident, 2nd and 3rd degree burns of chest, abdomen, buttocks, right thigh and leg, right arm, right side of neck and left inner thigh due to clothes catching fire in remains of bonfire.”
