  Notes	Or Emelia. She was born Amalia. Her name is spelled Amelia, the name shown as Mamie Norina Smith’s mother, in the Minnesota Births and Christenings database. In the 1895 state census, she was the 26 year-old Emelia Smith living with her daughter on a farm in New Scandia Twp, Washington County, that was apparently run by Albert and Anton Isaacson, ages 23 and 19 respectively, who were probably Emelia’s brothers. An Amelia Smith married a C Holm in Hennepin County on 16 Dec 1899. She and her daughter were living with her new husband (first name Claus, last name begins Hal or Hol, indexed as Holmes) on Washington Avenue in Minneapolis at the time of the 1900 census. She had had only the one child and had come to the U.S. in 1881.
