  Notes	Irene M. Nedland, age 89 of Viroqua, died Thursday, Jan, 27, 2011. She was born on Nov. 22, 1921, to Aberham and Anna (Anderson) Nelson. On Nov. 22, 1951, she was united in marriage to Floyd Nedland. Irene was an active member of the Bethel Lutheran Church, the Rebecca Circle and the WELCA. She enjoyed living on the farm, where she milked cows and raised chickens. She took pleasure in flowers and indoor plants, sewing, watching birds and entertaining people as well as sharing coffee with friends and relatives and baking cake for her son. Irene was proud of her Norwegian heritage and enjoyed attending Syttende Mai and baking Norwegian pastries. She is survived by one son, Wayne (Becky) Nedland of Viroqua; six grandchildren, Brent (Chelsey) Nedland, Trisha (Ryan) Peterson, Lance Nedland, Eric Nedland, Emily Nedland and Ryan Nedland; six great-grandchildren, Isabella, Olivia and Devin Nedland, Evan and Caleb Peterson and Gavin Nedland; daughter-in-law, Debra Nedland; one sister, Allene (Alvin) Christianson; sister-in-law, Norma Nelson; and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Blayne G. Nedland; her husband, Floyd, who died on Aug. 7, 2010; sister, Mildred Swenson; and brother, Alvin W. Nelson. Blessed be our memory of Irene Nedland. Due to the fire at Bethel Lutheran Church, funeral services for Irene were held on Sunday, Jan. 30, 2011, at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Viroqua. Pastor Kris Fahey officiated with burial in the Bethel Cemetery. Friends called on Saturday afternoon at the Vosseteig-Larson Funeral Home in Viroqua. Friends also called on Sunday at the church before the time of the services.
