  Notes	An article in the Bemidji newspaper in November of 1903 said that he and his two sons, E.J. and Malcolm, were returning home to Thief River Falls from Red Lake after operating the Thief River Lumber Company’s line of steamboats during the past summer. From an article in the Bemidji newspaper in July of 1909, he and his son Orbin were in charge of towing logs on Upper and Lower Red Lakes for the Thief River Falls Lumber Company. In the 1910 census, he and his family lived in Thief River Falls. He was a steamboat captain. In the 1920 census, he and his family lived in the city of Thief River Falls, Minnesota. He was a carpenter building boats. He and Emma had been married for 29 years. In the 1930 census, he and Emma and their 19 year-old granddaughter Lee E live in Thief River Falls at 211 Atlantic in a house they own worth $6000. The household includes an 18 year-old roomer named Agnes Peterson. In the 1931 Thief River Falls city directory, he and Emma live in a house at 211 Atlantic Ave N. He is the only Eberhardt in the directory.
