  Notes	Funeral services for Mrs. Carrie Evenson, 85, of rural Nerstrand, were held Saturday at the Vang Lutheran Church with the Rev. Terence E. Fretheim officiating. Interment took place at the Vang Cemetery. Kenneth Flom, accompanied by Mrs. Cyrus Midje, sang "How Great Thou Art" and "Beautiful Savior". Pallbearers were Merlin Klahr, Arnold Maring, Norman Nelson, Henry Quammer, Tenus Rustad and Richard Underdahl. She was born on a farm near Dennison on Aug. 31, 1886, the daughter of Hans and Soneva Prestegaard Halvorson. She was baptized by the late Rev. J. N. Kildahl and confirmed on Nov. 3, 1901, by the late Rev. A. Hauge at the Vang Lutheran Church, of which she has been a lifelong member. On June 25, 1924, she married Edwin Evenson at the Evangelical Lutheran Church at Red Wing by the late Rev. Martin Norstad. They lived at Red Wing for one year before moving to their farm in Holden Township. Mrs. Evenson, who passed away at the St. Lucas Convalescent and Geriatric Center in Faribault after a long illiness, is survived by her husband, two daughters; Mrs. Elroy (Doris) Henke of Kenyon, and Mrs. Calvin (Carol) Duncan of Minneapolis; three grandchildren, and one great-grandchild, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, one sister, Mrs. Henry (Rose) Miller, and one sister who died in infancy.
