| Notes |
- Dianne Clair (Zinther) Rasmussen, 77, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister-in-law passed away on July 8, 2021 in Mesa, AZ following a brief illness. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, August 21, 2021 at Turtle Lake Cemetery in Turtle Lake, ND with Pastor Chuck Mann officiating.
Dianne was born June 1, 1944 in Minot, ND to Edwin Richard and Clara Ovidia (Lindteigen) Zinther. Dianne married Ronald Dean Rasmussen on January 23, 1960 at St. Olaf’s Lutheran Church in Turtle Lake, ND. Her dad lovingly joked that Ron was marrying the most stubborn girl in the county. The first years of married life were spent moving from Turtle Lake to Stanley, back to Turtle Lake and then Bismarck before finally settling down to raise their family in Washburn. Ron’s work took them to various states before making Mesa their permanent home for more than 30 years.
Dianne’s interests included spending time with her grandchildren (especially Savannah and Dawson who lived in close proximity), sewing, doll making, crafting, upholstery, furniture refinishing, and cooking. She was a woman of many talents, but also one who did not boast or brag about her abilities. When she set out to do something, she did it with perfection. After watching the Statler Brothers perform as part of the Grand Ole Opry Tour in Bismarck, she meticulously made a western suit for Ron that mimicked what the performers were wearing. Everyone was in awe of her talent. She also worked for five years at the Missouri Slope Lutheran Home in Bismarck.
Dianne is survived by her husband of 61 years; two sons, Dwight (Margaret) Rasmussen of Washburn, ND and Darsey (Misty) Rasmussen of Mesa, AZ; three daughters, Darla (Dayle) Gilson of Richland, WA, Dora (Damian) Meier of Fargo, ND and Dawn (Rick) Anderson of Hazen, ND; 15 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Mary Carmen Zinther.
Previously departed loved ones include her parents; twin sisters who died in infancy, Darien Kay and Donna Fay; and brother, Duane Edwin Zinther.
