Notes
She died of burns sustained March 24, 1938. The little girl had been walking home from school when she was attracted by a bonfire in a nearby lot. A gust of wind blew sparks from the fire onto her, igniting her dress. Her playmates rolled her on the ground and put out the flames but not before she had been badly burned over most of her body. Her clothing had been almost completely consumed.
