- Isabelle Sandager, 86, of Albuquerque, New Mexico, (formerly of Fargo, ND), died Sunday, June 17, 2007, in New Mexico.
Isabelle O. Brateng was born May 31, 1921, to Gustav and Alma (Dahlen) Brateng in Kindred, North Dakota. She graduated high school in Kindred in 1939, and attended St. Luke’s School of Nursing, graduating in 1942. She received her Bachelor’s Degree from North Dakota State University, Fargo. She was an instructor at the nursing school, until her retirement in 1985. She married Ingolf Sandager, her high school sweetheart, on September 17, 1943, in Montreal, Canada, where he was stationed as a Captain in the US Air Force. They were married for 61 years.
She is survived by two sons, Paul (Mary Lou) Sandager, Forest Lake, MN; John (Susan) Sandager, Albuquerque, NM; one sister, Dagmar Twedt, Fargo, ND; seven grandchildren, Matthew and Jason Sandager; Jennifer (Ryan) Severson; Ellen (Walt) Benson; Brian and Christopher Sandager; Smith Webber-Sandager; and one great-grandson, Orion Benson.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ing, who died in 2005, and her parents. Funeral Service: Monday, July 2, 2007, at 2 PM, at First Lutheran Church, Fargo, ND. Visitation: Sunday, July 1, 2007, from 5-7 PM, at Hanson-Runsvold Funeral Home, Fargo, ND. Prayer Service: Sunday, July 1, 2007, at 7 PM, at Hanson-Runsvold. Burial: Kindred Cemetery, Kindred, ND.
