  Notes	His first wife, Hilda Pedersdatter, died in 1897. He had at least two children with her but neither of them lived with Ole after his marriage to Bertha. In the 1905 state census, as Ole Mellon, he and his wife and young daughter Mary lived in Minneapolis. The 21 year-old Carl Gilbertson, probably a brother of his wife, perhaps lived with them. The image of the census record is illegible. They moved to Canada in 1910, not long after Emelia was born. in the 1911 Canadian census, he was a farmer in Medicine Hat in Alberta. He and Maria Bertha had three children, all born in the U.S.: Olga, Julius, and Gunvor. That census shows Ole as born in the USA but Maria Bertha as age 33, born in Norway. The 1916 Canadian census shows Mary as born in the USA. Ole’s obit in the Calgary Herald says that he settled south of Youngstown in 1910. He died at his home. He was born in Rushford, Minnesota, and was “twice married.”
