  Notes	Shown as age 6 in the 1885 Nebraska state census. Anton B Rumery enlisted or re-enlisted in the U.S. Army at Fort McDowell on Angel Island in San Francisco in March of 1908. Anton was a teamster from Fremont, Nebraska. He was assigned to the 20th Infantry. Notes say he either deserted or was discharged on April 9th. As Anton Barney Rumery, he registered for the draft in Nebraska City, Otoe County, Nebraska. He was a telephone worker but was not working because of surgery. His nearest relative was Mrs. Nelly Rumery, presumably his wife. He was of medium height and build with dark brown hair and dark brown eyes. He may also have gone by Barney Rumery. If so, he was in the U.S. Army in the Cuban campaign in 1899.
