  Notes	Debra Jean Marie Leslie, 51, of Eau Claire, went home to be with the Lord after losing her 10- month battle with cancer on Friday, June 23, 2006. She was at home surrounded by her family. Debi was born Jan. 16, 1955, to Raymond and Catherine (Schoenoff) Giere in Menomonie, Wis. She graduated from Menomonie High School in 1973 and afterwards continued on to beauty school. Debi then worked at Alma's Beauty Salon and was part owner of Two's Company Beauty Salon in Colfax. Debi moved to Eau Claire, where she held several jobs, including working at Mestads and later at Bridal and Bow Ties. She and her husband, Steve, were married Feb. 23, 2002, in Maui, Hawaii. Debi then worked in their family business. Debi and Steve enjoyed vacationing in Hawaii during the winter months. Debi had a joyful outlook on life and will be greatly missed by all. She is survived by her husband, Steve; son, Justin (Amy) Scherer, Eau Claire; granddaughters, Isabel and McKenna; brother, Larry (Jayette) Giere, Menomonie; sisters, Laura Ellingboe, Eau Claire, Becky (David) Clark, Boyceville; and father, Raymond Giere, Boyceville. She was preceded in death by her mother, Catherine Giere, and one son, Jay Scherer. Stokes and Mundt Funeral Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home in Altoona. Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Lake Street Methodist Church, with an additional visitation one hour prior to the services at the church.
