- In early 1979 he was sentenced to not more than three years in prison for two charges of aggravated forgery. The forgery incidents, passing forged checks, occurred in May of 1978. In the sentencing hearing, the county attorney noted, in reference to Bestor’s juvenile record, that Bestor had been a “significant problem” in the courts for six years. The county attorney also noted that Bestor had recently been undergoing treatment at a chemical dependency unit (CDU) at the Rochester state hospital while on probabation for a prior conviction in Houston County. He had been kicked out of that CDU after being caught smoking marijuana and was later taken into custody in Iowa.
Arrested for burglary and felony theft in 1981 for a March 31 break-in at a residence in Money Creek, Houston County, Minnesota.
