  Notes	Clarence M. Newgard, 84, a retired farmer and a veteran of World War 1, died at 2:30 p.m. Friday in St. Olaf Hospital at Austin. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Hartland Synod Lutheran church. Interment will be in the Hartland cemetery. A son of the late Christ and Betsy Newgard, he was born June 22, 1889. He had been a merchant at stores in Little Rock, Iowa and at Hills, Minnesota, before he returned to Hartland. Mr. Newgard and Amanda Nerison were married Jan. 3, 1930. She survives him. Other survivors are a daughter, Mrs. Ben (Berniece) Tukua of Alden; two brothers, Julius of Albert Lea and Arthur of Hartland; two grandsons; and 11 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife and his parents.
