- In the 1902 Faribault city directory, which includes Northfield, he is a clerk for H J Vollmer & Co. He boards at 1109 Division.
Appears to have purchased Monarch Grocery, perhaps from Eltun & Ellingboe, in September of 1916 according to a headline in the Northfield News.
He and his wife and mother-in-law (and two roomers in 1920) lived at 411 Washington Street in Northfield in the 1920 and 1930 censuses. He was a retail grocery merchant.
