- PLENTYWOOD - Former Scobey resident Yvonne Marie Kvale died Jan. 19, in Plentywood at Sheridan Memorial Hospital after a hard-fought battle with lung cancer.
Yvonne was born April 15, 1936, in Ambrose, N.D., to Alvin and Eleanora Amundson. She graduated from Alamo HS in 1954. In 1955 she married Jerald Kvale in Crosby N.D. They were married for 36 years before he passed away in 1991. While they were married they lived in Opheim, Miles City, Broadus, Tioga and Wolf Point. Jerry was working in grain elevators and Yvonne was his bookkeeper. In 1977 they moved to Scobey. While in Scobey, Yvonne worked for Daniels Memorial Hospital as a kitchen supervisor for 28 years until she retired in 2009 and move to Plentywood shortly after.
Yvonne was preceded in death by her parents Alvin and Eleanora Amundson, her husband Jerry.
She is survived by her six children, Larry Kvale, Jane (Mark) Bublich of Plentywood, and Kevin Kvale of Laurel, Susan (Don) Boos of Kenmare, N.D., Vicki (Jim) Flotkoetter of Laurel and Chad Kvale of Plentywood. Yvonne also has a sister, Alvina Ottem of Eugene, Ore., and brother, Robert (Susan) Amundson of Williston, N.D. She has seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Services for Yvonne will be at Scobey Lutheran Church on Jan. 23, 2013, at 2 p.m., with burial at Scobey Cemetery after.
