- Inga I. Hollen, age 83, of Sunburg, died Monday afternoon, March 5, at the Belgrade Nursing Home.
Inga Irene Hollen was born on May 30, 1934, in Mainstockheim, Germany, the daughter of Ruppert and Marguerite (Holl) Schneider. She grew up and received her education in Mainstockheim and was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Faith. On October 19, 1957, in Germany, Inga was united in marriage to Morine Glen Hollen. They made their home in Germany for a year before she immigrated to the United States in 1958. They lived in Sunburg for a brief time before moving to Minneapolis. She worked as a seamstress in Minneapolis until 1965, when they returned to Sunburg. Inga was a hardworking farm wife. She enjoyed the various chores on the farm, caring for the calves and kittens and baking and cooking for her family. Her hobbies included fishing, dancing, listening to polka music and musicals.
She is survived by her loving husband of over 60 years, Morine and two children, Heidi Hollen (and Dave Slavens) and Chris Hollen. Also surviving is her twin-sister, Helga (and Joseph) Filbig, sister, Irma Zaugg and a brother, Robert (and Betina) Schneider, besides numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Walter Holl.
