  Notes	His obit says that he came to the U.S. as a youth. At 19 he started college at Luther in Decorah, Iowa. Upon graduating from there, he entered Luther Seminary in St. Paul, where he later served as professor of Hebrew, and continued his studies at Columbia University in New York. In 1881, he was ordained and served parishes in Minnesota, South Dakota, Wisconsin, and Iowa. After teaching at the seminary, he became missionary to the Jewish people of New York. Translations from the Syriac and Arabic languages were among his literary works. In the 1895 state census, he and his family were in Garfield Twp, Polk County, Minnesota. In the 1900 census, he and his family lived in Garfield Twp, Polk County, Minnesota. He was a minister.
