Funeral services were conducted Thursday, November 19, at 2 p.m. for Mrs. Amelia Komprud, 88, who passed away Sunday, November 15, at the St. Olaf Rest Home in Northfield. She had been in failing health for a long time. The Rev. B. J. Blikstad officiated. Mrs. Blikstad sang two numbers,"I Know Of A Sleep In Jesus Name" and "Forbil has mig", with Mrs. Cyrus, church organist, at the organ. The pallbearers were Omar Ostenson, Melvin Johnson, Obert Remme, Bennard Ellingboe, Oscar Hellerud and Alfred Svien. Interment was in the Vang Cemetery. Amelia Paulson was born in Fillmore County September 25th, 1871. She attended school there and was confirmed in the Lanesboro Church. On June 29, 1898, she was married to Ole Komprud of Dennison and lived in the Dennison community all her married life. Both Mr. and Mrs. Komprud were life-long members of the Vang Lutheran Church. Five children were born to the couple. Surviving are Mrs. John (Palma) Vesledahl, Nerstrand, Mrs. Ben (Mabel) Hillestad, Northfield; Walter Komprud, MInneapolis and Leonard Komprud of Dennison. She also leaves a foster daughter, Mrs. Walter (Clara) Gustafson, Minneapolis, one granddaughter, Mrs. Aarland Haugen, Cedar Falls, Iowa, and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; a son, Alvin; two sisters and four brothers.
