  Notes	Her baptismal sponsors were Berith Iversdatter Gevre, Gierthrue Olsdatter Torpe, Sergeant Knud Torp, Finkell Nielsen Twedt, Mads Iversen Twedt, and one more whose name I can’t decipher. Reliable sources disagree on the mother or mothers of Asbjørn Anderssen’s two illegitimate children (Anders Asbjørnsen, b. 1844, and Marith Asbjørnsdatter, b. 1847). One source calls her Sigri Andersdatter Skjefte, b. 3 Nov 1814 on Skjefte, bapt. 10 Nov 1814 in Hurums, and has her as the mother of Anders as well as Marit. He has Sigri’s parents as Anders Tollevsen Skjefte (1763-1836) and Sigri Syversdatter Østrem (1777-?). dtwidt in his Darren Twidt Family Tree also has both children with the same mother but he calls her Sigrid Endresdatter Tveit, b. 28 Oct 1816, bapt. 10 Nov 1816, to parents Endre Madson Tveit and Marith Amondsdatter Tvedtmoen. He has this Sigrid dying in 1896 in Warsaw, Rice County. (Note that the two girls, Sigri A and Sigrid E, were baptized exactly two years apart in the same church.) It appears that dwtwidt is correct. The main reasons for this conclusion are: 1) Anders’s death certificate claims his mother was Sigrid Twidt, and 2) Marith’s mother Sigrid lived with, and is buried with, Marith and her husband Andrew Svien in the Vang cemetery in Dennison, Minnesota. That Sigrid, by then Sigrid Brekke, died in 1896. Vang A, p. 444, calls her Sigrid Endresdatter Tørpeeiga, the mother of Andris. The bygdebok does not mention Marith. Sigrid was living with the Sviens in the 1880 census.
