    • Funeral services for Richard D. Litsheim were held at the Parker Funeral Home on Friday afternoon, Sept. 20, at 1:30 p.m. with Leonard Coffeen of St. Paul officiating. Pallbearers were James Hoffmaster, Robert Newcombe, Allan Forcelle, James Ebert, Fred Malecha, and Delmar Schafbuch, all of Faribault. Interment was in the National Cemetery at Fort Snelling. A military escort and veteran's graveside rites were provided at the cemetery by members of the veterans service organizations of Faribault. Included were the following: Commander of the military escort and firing squad was John F. Kenney; color bearers were Frank Miller and Everett Brendemeuhl and color guards were Ike Zuehlke and John Carver. The firing squad consisted of Art Shields, Robert Kern, Sylvester Fiebiger, Roy Winjum and Bert Murphy. Bulger was Kenneth Berndt, United States Navy. Relatives and friends attending the services from away were from Tucson, Ariz., Milwaukee, Wis., Menominie, Wis., St. Paul, Minneapolis, Kenyon, Nerstrand, Sebeka, Morristown, and Northfield. Richard Dean Litsheim, the son of Edward and Irene Hudak Litsheim, was born in Faribault on Feb. 13, 1933. As a child, he moved with the family to St. Paul, and there he attended the public schools and grew to young manhood. Following that, he enlisted in the United States Navy during the time of the Korean Conflict and served for a four year period. He also served for a number of years with the Naval Reserve. Following his discharge from military service, he returned to St. Paul, where for several years he was employed with a sheet metal firm. On June 2, 1956 he was united in marriage to Miss Carolyn Warmington at St. Paul. They made their home in Faribault where Mr. Litsheim was employed at McQuay's and later, at the Mercury Aircraft in Faribault. Following that, he had been employed with the Engineer's Specialty Company in Lakeville. Mr. Litsheim passed away at the Veterans Hospital in Minneapolis on Wednesday morning Sept. 18, following an illness of several years. He is survived by his widow, Carolyn; a daughter, Christian Ann of Faribault; his mother, Mrs. Melvin Oswald of Tucson, Arizona; a brother, Dewey Litsheim Jr. of El Cajon, Calif.; his maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. John Hudak of Sebeka, Min.; a number of uncles and aunts and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his father, Edward A. Litsheim, in July of 1962. Mr. Litsheim was a member of the Rice County Veteran's of Foreign Wars Post 1562 of Faribault.
