    • Funeral services were held Tuesday, May 23, at 2 p.m. at the Dennison Lutheran Church for Mrs. Thomas Haugen, 69, of Northfield. The Rev. Harlan F. Foss, pastor of the Dennison Lutheran Church, conducted the service. The soloist was Esther Boe, with Mrs. Harlan Foss accompanying. The pallbearers were Carl Underdahl, Oscar Solheim, Leonard Esterm, Edward Kunde, Fred Anderson and Alfred Skovbroten. Interment was in the Valley Grove Cemetery at Nerstrand.

      Tilda Geneva, daughter of Iver and Gertrude Wangesness Holt, was born at Minot, N.D. on Nov. 30, 1892. She was baptized and confirmed in the First Lutheran Church in Minot. She was married to Thomas N. Haugen on Oct. 27, 1914. To this union eight children were born: Five daughters, Mrs. Elmer (Valdine) Engeseth, Mrs. Orlando (Meredith) Lien, Mrs. Elsworth (Hazel) Dammer, Mrs. Arvin (Norma) Iverson and Mrs. James (Lou Ann) Lervik and three sons, Russell, who was killed in World War II, Herbert and Donald. Her parents, five brothers and one sister preceded her in death.

      Surviving are her husband, seven children, 17 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, two brothers, Arthur of Seattle and Grant of Minot, N.D., and one sister, Hazel Holt of Williston, N.D.

      The Haugens came to Dennison in 1924 and farmed in this area and later moved to Northfield. Mrs. Haugen was taken ill last week and taken from the Northfield Hospital to the University Hospitals where she passed away Friday, May 19. Mrs. Haugen was active in church and Ladies Aid work and was an honorary member of the Dennison Ladies Aid. She was presented with a lifelong pin by the local aid.
