He and his father had been born in Wisconsin, his mother had been born in Norway. In the 1900 census, he lived in Northfield. His parents were John Selthun, age 43, and Ambjor, age 53. In the 1930 census, he was Engwald J Seltun, a 43 year-old taxi driver in Minot. His father was born in Minnesota and his mother in Norway. His wife was Harriet M, age 35, who was born in Wisconsin to German immigrant parents. Children living with the couple were Nora E. L., age 18, born in North Dakota to a woman born in English Canada; Jean H, 6, born in North Dakota to parents born in Wisconsin; Bobby I, 4, born in North Dakota to parents born in Wisconsin; Harold L, age 3, born in North Dakota to parents born in Wisconsin; Charlett Randall, 16, born in Minnesota to parents born in Wisconsin; Eva Randall, 14, born in North Dakota to parents born in Wisconsin; Raymond P Randall, 13, born in North Dakota to parents born in Wisconsin; and Lyle C Randall, 9, born in North Dakota to parents born in Wisconsin. Engwald was first married when he was 22; Harriet was first married at age 18. In 1933, as Ingvald J Selthun, he lived in Minot, North Dakota. In the 1940 census, he is Ingwald Selton, age 53, living with his daughter Nora Eliason in Minot, North Dakota. He is a laborer on county-wide road projects but he, like his daughter, was unemployed. He is probably the Ingwald John Seltun who registered for the World War II draft in North Dakota. That Ingwald was born 20 Nov 1886 in “Penokey Cap, Wisconsin.” He lived in Cartright, North Dakota but his mailing address was general delivery, Minot. He worked for Leland Bros. of Cartright, North Dakota. His person who would always know his address was Miss E. A. Seltun, general delivery, Minot. (Penokee, Wisconsin, is in the town of Morse, Ashland County, Wisconsin.) May have died in Deer Lodge County, Montana, on 20 May 1969, as Ingvold Seltun. The Eliason/Brandon family tree has him marrying, and having several children with, Harriet (Hattie) Minnie Utzig, and does not mention Eunice or June.
