  Notes	Lt. Col. (Ret.) Ronald Dale Phillips, 65, died Wednesday, Jan. 25, 2012, at his residence in Clay Center. Mr. Phillips was born Dec. 1, 1946 at Layton, Utah, the son of Dale and Arlene (Thompson) Phillips. He served in the U.S. Army Special Forces, retiring as a lieutenant colonel after nearly 40 years of service. He served as a peacekeeper in the Sinai Peninsula. He married Connie Thompson on August 29, 1968 at Ogden, Utah. After retiring from the Army, he workd as a civil service employee on Fort Riley and for the Geary County Health Department. Survivors include his wife, Connie Phillips of the home at Clay Center; one son, Scott Phillips of Clay Center; one daughter, Amy Whitaker and husband Calvin J. of Junction City; two sisters, Sandy Adrian and husband Larry of Odgen, Utah and Sela Jensen of Hollister, Calif.; one brother, Brad Phillips of Ogden, Utah; seven grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and his mother, Arlene Phillips Miller of Ogden, Utah. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 31 at the Kansas Veteran's Cemetery, Fort Riley, Manhattan, with the Rev. Susan Sawyer officiating. Burial will be in Kansas Veteran's Cemetery, Fort Riley.
