She was a published poet and member of South Dakota Poet's Association. She was a member of the Red Hat Society. She loved her family, reading and studying history all of her life. During WWII, she worked in Seattle, WA in the Navy yards doing clerical work. She was a hard worker all of her life, raising four children while continuing to be active outside the home, working part- time in a variety of clerical positions throughout Minneapolis.
