  Notes	Gilbert W. Odella, 76, Gheen, passed away at the Cook Hospital on March 24, 2014. He was born Gilbert William Odella on December 24, 1937, at Hibbing, MN; the son of William and Inez (Lagerquist) Odella. He grew up in Cook and Gheen. Gilbert married Patricia "Pat" Himango on January 30, 1960 in Biwabik, MN. He worked in a gold mine in Montana for a time, then moved back to Gheen, where he made his residence most of his life. Gilbert was a heavy equipment operator for Ulland Brothers Construction, retiring after over 35 years of dedicated service. Gilbert and Patty took over the longtime family owned bar-restaurant business in Gheen and ran the well known Patty's Lost Week-Inn for a number of years. He had enjoyed going to casinos, boating, fishing, hunting and the outdoors of northern Minnesota. Gilbert was gifted mechanic and could fix most anything that went wrong or was broken. He made many lasting friends working at Ulland's, and many came to visit him when his health declined. Gilbert had a hummingbird garden that attracted numerous hummingbirds that he enjoyed watching. He will be dearly missed by family and friends. He is preceded in death by his wife, Patricia on February 26, 2012; 2 sisters, Donna Saarikoski on July 27, 2005 and Patricia who died at birth; and a niece, Carmen Odella in 1978. Gilbert is survived by his sons: Mike (Becky) and John (Becky); a daughter, Kelly (Milo Villebrun); three brothers, Rodney (Judy) Odella, Mark (Karyn) Odella and Larry (Susan) Odella; a sister, Jean (Tom) Novak; eight grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; along with numerous nieces, nephews and many friends. Interment in the Willow Valley Township Cemetery.
