Kenneth Fletcher passed away Friday, April 10, 2009 in Vancouver, WA at the age of 83. He was born in Meridian, ID March 15, 1926 to Omar Leigh and Emma Grace Fletcher as one of eight children.
Kenneth married Maxine Loraine Bonde on September 19, 1948 and together they had three children. Maxine passed away in 1988 and Mr. Fletcher, "Kenny" to his friends and "Pappo" to his grandchildren, later married Shirley Barber.
Kenny enjoyed traveling in his motor home, always taking the scenic route, seeking adventure on his many recreational vehicles, and crafting wood and metal.
He worked as a tugboat captain but was most proud of his position as a Columbia River Pilot.
Kenny is survived by his son, Chris Duane Fletcher; daughter, Susan Helene Fletcher; sister, Donna Kay Watts; brothers, Scotty Fritz Fletcher and Omar Leigh Fletcher Jr.; grandchildren, Ryan Matthew Fletcher, Sarah Lynne Fletcher, and Julia Michelle Fletcher; great-grandson, Blake Fletcher Peterson; step-sons Michael, Charles, and Russell Barber; and nieces and nephews.
Kenny was preceded in death by his loving parents; his wives, Maxine Fletcher and Shirley Barber Fletcher; son, Craig Duane Fletcher; sisters, Betty Jean Wellman, Joyce Elaine Kiedrowski, and Winnifred Fern Scherpf; and brother, Vernon Robert "Mudflat" Fletcher.
