He was single, had four years of high school, and had a civil occupation of “actors and actresses.” In the 1949 Wichita city directory, he is a clerk for International Harvester. He and Marjorie live at 3897 E Roseberry Drive. In the 1950 census, he and Marjorie and Ann Catherine live at 1902 S. Oliver Street in Wichita. In the 1951 Wichita city directory, he was an office worker for International Harvester. He lived at 1902 S Oliver. He was a chief clerk at a retail implement company. Marjorie is a dental assistant working for the government. In the 1953 Wichita city directory, he is Eugene H Ellingboe, a clerk for International Harvester. He and Marjorie live at 257 N Spruce. In the 1963 Hays, Kansas, city directory, he is Eugene H Ellingboe. He and Marjorie live at 1313 E 17th. Eugene is an accountant for International Harvester. Eugene and Marjorie Ellingboe Eugene and Marjorie Ellingboe will be married 70 years on November 1st. We will be celebrating on Saturday October 27 from 2-4 pm in the Fellowship Hall at Kansas Avenue United Methodist Church, 1029 N. Kansas Avenue. Come join us! Cards may be sent to Gene and Marge at 1020 NE 27th, Topeka, KS, 66617. Eugene (Gene) Harvey Ellingboe, 92, passed away December 5, 2012, at Stormont Vail Healthcare. He was born February 11, 1920 in Greensburg, Kansas to Enoch and Opal Ellingboe. He graduated from Greensburg High School in 1938 and attended American Business College in Wichita prior to enlisting in the Army in February 1941. He served in the European Theater of Operations, being discharged in October 1945 and served in the active Army Reserves and retired with the rank of CWO2. He was employed for 28 years as an accountant for International Harvester Stores. He was an avid golfer. Eugene was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one sister. He married Marjorie Brown November 1, 1942, in Conway Springs, Kansas, who survives. Other survivors are Ann VanValkenburg, Pueblo, Colorado, Sue Bransford (Rudy), Wichita, Kansas, and Kay Ellingboe, Kansas City, Missouri. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, December 13 at 3:00 PM at Kansas Avenue Methodist Church, 1029 N Kansas Avenue, Topeka with a reception immediately following.
