Notes |
- Gilbert moved to Canada. As of April of 1912, he had a homestead in Alberta.
He registered for the draft in Duluth although the registration seems to have been taken in September of 1918 at the U.S. consulate in Vancouver, B.C. At the time he claimed to be a naturalized U.S. citizen and he gave his occupation as “prospector.” The person who would always know his address was E.E. Dale of 1112-1114 East Lake Street in Minneapolis.
A 1937 border crossing record indicates that he lived in Saskatchewan.
In another border crossing in 1939, at Blaine, Washington, he was returning to Canada from a job in California. He lived in Ravenscrag, Saskatchewan. His occupation was hard rock miner. His wife was Belinda Jane. He had arrived in the U.S. in August of 1902 at New York aboard the St. Louis.
In his crossing in 1944 at Havre, Montana, he was now a carpenter. His wife was Belle.
He was Gilbert Dale of Canada at the time of his sister Sigrid’s death in 1964.
