Funeral services were conducted at the Vang Lutheran Church, Tuesday, July 21, at 2 p.m. for Chris O. Hagen, 78, by the Rev. B. J. Blikstad, pastor of the parish. Mrs. Blikstad sang "What A Friend We Have In Jesus" and "Forbil Hos Mig" accompanied by Mrs. Cyrus Midje, the church organist. The pallbearers were James Haugen, Glenn Hagen, George Hagen, Delmar Hagen, Harold Hagen and Maurice Hagen. He was laid to rest in the Vang Cemetery. Chris O. Hagen, son of Ole E. Hagen and Mary Bakken Hagen, was born March 10, 1886, near Sogn in Warsaw Township, Goodhue County. He was baptized and confirmed in the Urland Lutheran Church. In 1911, he was married to Anna Haugen, who survives him. One daughter, Florence, died in childhood. Hagen spent most of his life in or near Dennison until they moved to Northfield in 1947. He was employed at Carleton College until his retirement. In 1962 they moved to St. Paul. He died at Ancker Hospital in St. Paul Saturday evening, July 18, at the age of 78 years. Besides his widow, Anna, he is survived by one brother, George Hagen of Northfield, five sisters and seven nephews.
