  Notes	William H. (Bill) Thomsen, 83, passed away August 29, 2003, at his residence, The Cedars. He was born November 4, 1919, to Carl and Kristine Thomsen, and married Lorraine Dalager on August 16, 1946, in Austin. Bill was employed by Richfield Oil Refinery in Long Beach, Calif., George A. Hormel of Austin, owned Thomsen Cleaners in Austin for 18 years and thereafter was associated with Butler Amusements (Bud and Butch Butler, former residents of Austin) in California. He was a Veteran of World War II, serving in the European Theatre, U.S. Army, a member of the American Legion, VFW DAV, Eagles and Odd Fellows. His hobbies included fishing, boxing, reading, music and traveling. He loved visiting with friends and family. Bill's infectious smile and warm personality left few behind as strangers. Survivors include daughter-in-law, Sharon Morrison Thomsen; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews, including David (Julie) Thomsen of Austin and Penny (Thomsen) Marshall of Rochester; as well as many very dear friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Lorraine; son, Ron; daughter, Peggy; sister, Shirley; brothers, Bob, Barney and Carl. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 2, 2003, at 2 p.m. at Crane Community Chapel with the Rev. Randy Petersen officiating. Internment will be in Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church on Tuesday for one hour before the service. Olaf B. Damm Post #1216 VFW and Austin Post #91 American Legion in charge of military rites. Organist will be Kathy Crosby and soloist will be Kathleen Iverson. Casket Bearers will be Norm Johnson, Bill Myhre, Jim Tonjum, Roy Bagne, Julie Thomsen, and Dave Thomsen. The funeral home is Clasen-Jordan Mortuary in Austin.
