She met her husband Bill in Los Angeles where they were married on December 4, 1948. The Rachies raised three daughters on the San Francisco peninsula before moving to Gualala upon Bill’s retirement in 1975. She was an avid reader, accomplished equestrienne, seamstress, knitter, cook, and creative artist who worked in silk screen, watercolor, stained glass, and batik.
