  Notes	In the 1900 census, he was a farmer in Fountain, Juneau County. Living with the family is Sarah, “mother”, a 76 year-old widow born in Norway in November of 1823. In the 1910 census, he was a farmer in Fountain Town in Juneau County, Wisconsin. He was 59 years old and had been married to Chetie for 33 years. He had come to the U.S. in 1855. He and his family are still in Fountain in the 1920 census. In the 1940 census, he lives with Clara and Edward Moe in Clifton Twp, Monroe, Wisconsin. Scott Shawcroft calls him Nels Nelson Quamme, b. 12 Aug 1850 in Haugen-nedre in Lærdal.
