Dr. William (Bill) Alexander Owens, 95, Montevideo, died Sept. 29, 2005, at Chippewa County-Montevideo Hospital. ?He was born Oct. 20, 1909, in Virginia to William and Lucinda (Sadley) Owens. He graduated from Princeton High School, Princeton in 1927. He attended the University of Minnesota and completed medical school in 1935. He was employed as a physician in Topeka, Kan. and Montevideo. ?He married Hildegarde Lima on March 3, 1940, in Montevideo. He served as a physician in the U.S. Army during World War II. They lived in Minneapolis and then moved to Montevideo to return to his medical practice. ?Survivors include daughters Elizabeth Kieske, Visalia, Calif., and Caroline Kelly, Bozeman, Mont.; sons Jonathan, Las Vegas, and Thomas, Littleton, Colo.; and eight grandchildren. ?He was preceded in death by his wife, brothers Harry, Robert, and Thomas; and sisters Elizabeth Frost and Marion Milbrandt. ?The funeral was Oct. 1 at Anderson Funeral Home, Montevideo. ?Pallbearers were Sean Kelly, David Kieske, David Arneson, and Thomas Birkey. Honorary pallbearers were William Prindle, Paul Lundgren and Pamela Arneson. ?Burial was at Sunset Memorial Cemetery.
