In the 1910 census, he and Nellie and her daughter live in Mountrail County, North Dakota. He is a farmer in Happy Valley, Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, in Canada’s 1916 census. He and his wife (name illegible, maybe Nellie) are on the same census page as his brother Albert. He is still in Happy Valley with Nellie in Canada’s 1921 census. Syvert had no children. He is sometimes confused with a different Severt Skogstad who was born in Norway in early 1881.
