- His house originally stood at 34th Avenue and 68th Street. It was later moved to 74th and 18th in Richfield.
Born in Prussia in 1848, Charles Hohag came to America at the age of ten. He first settled in St Anthony and became a carpenter. After marrying Emily Moser in 1871, Hohag purchased the farm in 1874. He served on the town board for over 30 years as township supervisor and chairman of the board of supervisors. Hohag also served ten years as treasurer of the school board. When Richfield incorporated as a village in 1908 he was elected the first president.
The Hohags had seven sons. Their son Jack inherited the farm.
