    • His confirmation record in Inderøy is for Iver Anton Jonsen Aarfald, born in Gran, 29 June 1879, bapt. 27 July. He was living on Aarfald, “with Bernt.”

      He is recorded in the Sakshaug, Inderøy, church book’s emigration records as Iver Anton Jonsen Aarfald, leaving the parish in 1900 for Amerika. He was not listed with Bernt and Ane in the 1900 Norwegian census.

      In the 1905 census he was a mechanical laborer in Itasca County, Minnesota. He had been in the state for 5 years and in the local area for 3 years.

      In the 1910 census he is a single, 30 year-old, diamond driller living in a construction camp, probably for a railroad, in Nashwauk Twp, Itasca County. He came to the U.S. in 1900.

      Registered for the WWI draft on September 12, 1918, as Anton Jonson Orfold. His address was general delivery, Buhl, MN. He was a naturalized citizen and was employed by the Duluth Diamond Drill Co. as a diamond drill runner. He lists his nearest relative as John Orfold of Biwabik. He is described as short, of medium build, with blue eyes and brown hair.

      In the 1930 census he was 50 years old and living with John and Marie Orfald in Biwabik. He had no occupation.

      In the 1940 census, he was 66 and worked as a laborer in an ore mine.

      Mrs. A. Cartwright of Biwabik was the informant for his death certificate. He was totally blind. He died of uremia. He had been a diamond driller in the iron mining industry.
