Lila Mae Hegrenes was born July 4, 1946 in Ada, to Bennie and Laura (Malakowski) Hegrenes. She attended Lockhart (MN) and Ada schools. After graduation Lila attended Interstate Business College in Fargo, ND. She was hired to work in Washington, DC for UNESCO (United Nations Educational Scientific Cultural Organization). She later moved back to Fargo, ND and worked at the VA Hospital Pharmacy. Lila retired from the VA to help her parents with the onset of her mom’s Alzheimer’s and her dad’s cancer. She has continued to be supportive of her son, Mark, and of her grandson, Logan. Lila enjoyed traveling to Disney World and Alaska. She created beautiful stitchery items for family and explored family genealogy on her computer. She was also fond of time spent gardening. Lila is survived by her son: Mark, grandson: Logan, both of Fargo, ND; her brother, Ordean (Susan) Hegrenes, Rochester, MN; three nephews and their families. She is preceded in death by her parents.
