  Notes	SSDI gives his birthdate as 14 Oct. In the 1930 census, he was listed as living with his parents. No occupation. He graduated from Lawrence College in Appleton with high honors in June of 1930. He was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. His future wife, also in his class at Lawrence, also was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. In the 1931 city directory for Champaign, Illinois, he is an assistant at the University of Illinois. He resides at 504 S Busey Avenue. In the 1932 Champaign city directory, he is an assistant in Chem at the U of Illinois. He lives at 806 Florida. At the time of his marriage to Helen Jones, he was a research chemist for DuPont. His obit says that he was an organic chemist in the Central Research Department at the DuPont Experimental Station for 40 years. In the 1940 census, he and Helen live in Brooklyn Terrace in New Castle County, Delaware, with their two sons. Ellsworth is a chemist for a chemical company. In 1935, he and Helen had lived in WIlmington, Delaware. Ellsworth is shown as having had five years of college, Helen four.
