Notes	From Find A Grave: Sophia Larson, age 102, of Nerstrand/Kenyon area, died early Sunday morning, September 12,1993 at the Kenyon Sunset Home. She was born on January 3,1891 in Holden Township to Knute and Mary Qvamme Rauk. She was baptized and confirmed at Vang Lutheran Church in rural Dennison. She graduated from St. Olaf Academy in 1910 and later taught in rural Goodhue County. In 1916 she was united in marriage to Lester Larson. The couple resided in the Nerstrand area until Sophia entered the Kenyon Sunset Home in 1988. She was a lifelong member of Grace Lutheran Church and the Ladies Aid at Grace. She also taught Monday School at Grace for many years. She is survived by one son Lester Robert Larson, and his wife Joan, of Nerstrand; three daughters, Marie Tolley and her husband, Robert, of Long Beach, California, Julie Farmer of Kenyon and Avis Frethem and her husband, Harland, of Richfield, Minnesota; 22 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Agnes Meyer of Winthrop, Minnesota, Mildred Westermoe of Madison, Wisconsin, and Thelma Rumpf of San Diego, California. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Lester in 1956, one daughter, Beata Hogue,14 brothers and sisters and one great-granddaughter, Amy.
