  Notes	She was shot and killed by Rick Charles Fultz as she and her husband were leaving the Valli Pizza Restaurant in Dinkytown near the University of Minnesota. Fultz fired six shots, two of which hit Ruth. Fultz was a 26 year-old TA in the U of M’s Physics department. Fultz had been treated for mental illness, specifically paranoid schizophrenia. Fultz later hanged himself in Stillwater prison in March of 1974.
