- John Herman Carder, 72, of Alexander, a retired foreman for West Bend Company at Sheridan, died Sunday at his son's home in Alexander, Arkansas.
He was born September 29, 1915, in Sheridan, the youngest son of James Monroe and Lilly Bradley Carder.
He was a member of First Apostolic Church of Bryant (Saline County).
He was preceded in death by his parents, James Monroe and Lillie Bradley Carder, his wife, Mavis June Isaacson Carder, a daughter, Susan Gay Carder, his brother, Holland Monroe Carder, and one of this sisters, Ruth Hazel Carder Ferguson.
Survivors include five sons, John H. Carder Jr., of Clinton, Maryland, John Monroe Carder of Homestead, Florida, Thomas E. Carder of Bryant, Jerry Holland Carder of Sheridan and Kenneth Ray Carder of Hamburg; four daughters, Peggy Boatright of St. Augustine, Florida, Karen Lee Stroman of Okinawa, Japan, Linda Elizabeth Cook of Hamburg and Patricia Ann Wade of Concord, California; a sister, Lona Mae Heck of Clinton, Maryland; 19 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
