According to his granddaughter’s Find A Grave entry for him: Fred B. Metterhausen was a civil engineer who lived in Chicago all his life. He worked for the railroad. He also worked as an engineer on the building of Lake Shore Drive.
He married Alice Kloster. They had three children, Elissa, Laurel and Emil H.
