  Notes	She was a student at UW-Madison at the time of her brother’s death in 1951. She was a home economics teacher at the time of her marriage. She was Mrs. David Burns of Milwaukee at the time of her mother’s death in 1972. From Find A Grave: Katherine was born to Herman and Ferne Paulsen on May 12, 1932. She was the 4th of 6 children. She grew up in Holcombe, Wisconsin and went to college at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She was a member of the Alpha Phi sorority and graduated with a degree in teaching. She started her career in teaching gourmet foods and sewing. Later, she taught in Millard Public Schools for 25 years at Millard Central Middle School. While teaching she went on to get her master’s degree in counseling. Katherine was the mother of 5 children and enjoyed that role very much. She loved her 9 grandchildren and spoke of them often. Anyone that knew her would say she was a kind, caring, friendly person. During her retirement she enjoyed painting, Nebraska Football, playing bridge and traveling to visit friends and relatives in addition to sights around the world.
